"A cozy exploration game where the lighthouse is the main character."

The fog took the coast years ago. As the new keeper of Hollowlight, you'll relight the beacon one island at a time — and discover why the light went out.

Explore 12 hand-drawn islands by rowboat, gather oil and spare parts, befriend the strange things living in the fog, and piece together the keeper's log. No combat, no fail states — just quiet mysteries and a light worth keeping.

  • Tend a living lighthouse: fuel, repair, and upgrade the beacon across 12 islands
  • Befriend 20+ fog creatures, each with their own story and favorite snack
  • A 4–6 hour story about grief, told gently
  • Hand-painted art and an original ambient soundtrack
  • Play at your own pace — no timers, no game overs

Windows & macOS · ~5 hours · mouse + keyboard (gamepad supported) · cozy, no content warnings beyond mild melancholy · made in Godot.

FAQ

Is this generic marketing advice, or itch.io-specific?

itch.io-specific throughout. The tag guide covers how itch search actually works (tag-driven, recency-weighted), the pricing guide covers itch's name-your-price culture and fee structure, and the checklist covers itch's cover-image sizes, jam tags, and collections.

My game is already published. Is this still useful?

Yes — most of the kit applies to rewrites. The tag workflow includes a "revisit after launch" step using your analytics, and the pricing guide covers when and how to raise prices after ratings land.

What format is the download?

A ZIP of Markdown files: tagline formulas, the long-description template, feature-bullet patterns, the tag & SEO guide, the pricing guide, and the launch checklist. Open in any text editor or notes app.

Does it cover Steam pages too?

No — this is itch.io-only, on purpose. Steam pages play by different rules (capsule art, tags-as-algorithm-input, wishlist funnels). An itch page optimized like a Steam page underperforms.
